Why I won't like to become a Monitor
Once I asked a boy ," Do you want to become a Monitor? " He replied, "No, I am happy being a student. " I was surprised. Before this I couldn't find a boy who doesn't wish to become a head boy or monitor. To my curiosity, I asked him ," Why ? "
He replied ," Because when I will become monitor my responsibility will also increase. Then my focus may deviate from my goal . "
That boy had created a good impression on me . So young boy (may be of 6th grade ) , so mature talks .
I continued to talk , " Will you tell me about those responsibilities, please? "
That tiny ,innocent boy continued to reply ," Sir, the first responsibility is to mind the class , and when we mind the class , some of our friends become our enemy, then after they may try to take revenge after school. Second thing ,we need to run always after class teacher. Sometimes we need to mind the class entire day . Sometimes teachers appreciate us or shout us . During all these process , we miss our studies. We need to complete all our pending work at home . So we get less time to play .I want to enjoy greedom and mischievousness of a child . So I don't want to become a monitor. "
I became wordless . I kept silence. Deep silence. I was engrossed in thinking. So beautiful his face was looking while he was replying!
I noticed brightness in his eyes , firmness in his speech , innocence in his styles. He made me to predict his future. My search was over . He and I became best friends. We use to play sometimes. Sometimes we use to study .
Why Children Create Sounds
Yes , I don't say that children make noise , children don't make noise , they talk , they talk loudly , some may talk slowly . To their talks we cannot say that they are making noise. They are small ,their tiny minds have many tiny ideas which they want to listen, which they want to share.
Their problems are also small like they lost their erasor or pencil . Sometimes they complaint about others. They complaint about others because they are depriving themselves from those activities which their friends are doing .
Haven't you noticed how elders talk loudly in public places without taking care of their fellow friends or travellers. To them we request to keep quiet if they disturb us .
Same should be done with children. When they talk loudly, we should listen first what they want to speak ,then we should request them to keep silence. But children's nature doesn't permit them to keep silence .
Their age is to run and we want to make them walk . Remember your childhood were you not running when you were young . They are curious. They have energy. They have urge to run , they have urge to talk .They want innovation in your class . They want activities which will utilise their childhood energy and vigour.
Old men keep silence. Old men walk slow . Old men are mature. Children are new to this physical world. Don't control them ,as a ringmaster controls animals . Let them jump, let them run ,let them talk . If you have ability control them by your skill of teachings ,not by shouting or punishment.
Don't you find music in their sounds ,don't you listen revolutionary voice of Russeou in their roaring . Teachers, you need to know what they are talking and why they are talking . Children don't shout , children talk , don't kill their free voice . Let their childhood enjoy freedom of expression. They have urge to express . They have learnt little language, that they want to utilise to the maximum .

How To Control Small Kids
Discipline is the most difficult problem we face while teaching small kids. Teachers want to teach them a lot but their entire effort is in vain because they could not control the class. Most of the time, teachers do a lot of hard work and when they enter the noisy class, they forget everything.They feel sad or disappointed as they want to teach but children do not want to learn. This post will help you learn to control the class and make them sit in one place and learn or make them listen to what you say to them.
If you want to enjoy your teaching then don't be strict . Play with them . Don't teach in first lecture . Play , talk and enjoy their innocent nature . let them well versed with you . Let them mingle with you . Once they became familiar with you , they will start following your order . Let their mind and soul accept you as their teacher . We cannot force them to respect us . Their respect should not be because of their fear but should be a mixture of love and Honor .
Slowly and gradually start teaching to them . They should know that you are different and you are not the enemy of their play . You understand their childhood needs , they will understand you .
Bring action into your teaching. For example, while teaching grammar, do not use blackboards or screens but teach them through live examples such as actions, play or one acts. We can bring discipline by teaching through activity.
Take children out from the four walls of bricks: take them to the playground. Playgrounds are not only for physical education but playgrounds can be utilized for teaching other subjects too. This boosts interest among the students and they start loving the subject and teacher.Be sensitive, yes, be sensitive to their everyday words. Be sympathetic towards their problems. Listen to them. Most of the time they want to share their personal stories with teachers because to them, a teacher is not a professional person, but a friend too. So spare the time to listen to them. You listen to them, they will listen to you.
